Applications for the Solar Sidewalk©
OUR VISION
To bring renewable energy to every village, town and city in the world by re-purposing pavements and sidewalks in urban areas into clean energy generating multi-purpose environments using the Solar Sidewalk©.
CITIES, TOWNS and VILLAGES
We see our primary market to be City and Town councils as
they own and control most of the paved areas in the world.
Once electricity has been generated by the Solar Sidewalk©
and fed in to the local and national power grid (which run under
the streets), the power generated can be used to offset power
costs and/or generate income from Feed-In tariffs. This will
create a revenue stream enabling councils to better finance
other services like Adult Social Care, Housing etc.so needed
in today’s world.
ELECTRIC VEHICLE CURB-SIDE CHARGING
The installation of Solar Sidewalks© will, by default, create
a city-wide infrastructure for the charging of electric vehicles
at the curb-side.
Following the recent UK and EU Government announcements
about selling only electric cars post 2040, the product is
ideally situated to enable the recharging of electric cars at
the curb-side.
Dutch bank ING has predicted that all new cars sold within the EU will be electric by 2035, so, the introduction of this product is very timely.
SCHOOLS and UNIVERSITIES
With their large exterior paved spaces,
schools and universities would also benefit
from a Solar Sidewalk© installation for
reasons similar to those for Town and City Councils.
BUSINESSES, SPORTS STADIA, the MoD/ARMED SERVICES
Sports stadiums, Businesses and even the Armed Services can replace their paved areas with Solar Sidewalk© pavers and use these open spaces as a potential revenue stream or to offset the costs of power purchased from the grid.
If your country has a feed-in tariff, excess power can be used as an income stream. Either way costs will be reduced making more funds available for other projects.
THIRD-WORLD & RURAL APPLICATIONS
The Solar Sidewalk will also benefit remote and rural communities in the Third World. Delivering electricity to these communities will have an effect on improving the the long term quality of life by:
.
Access to electricity will also enable the creation of micro-industries. A few examples would be:
Having electricity on tap in remote local communities could also encourage governments to start linking villages to their national grids as excess power can then be fed into the grid for use elsewhere in the region.
With hard-surface solar paving, communities will also reduce airborne dust enabling homes to be kept cleaner as dirt and refuse can be swept or washed away more efficiently than if on a sandy surface, once again improving the quality of life.
DISASTER RELIEF and REFUGEE CAMPS
The Solar Sidewalk will also be of benefit in disaster areas and in refugee camps. Solar Sidewalks can be quickly laid initially providing power to essential relief services. We have been requested by the UNDP to advise them as soon as the product is available for use in these areas.
INDIVIDUAL HOMES
Solar Sidewalk pavers can also be used around
your home. So while you are at the office or away
on holiday, Solar Sidewalk pavers will be
generating power reducing your electricity bill and
putting money in your bank account.
We are currently in a round of fund raising to build and implement a pilot site.

OUR OBJECTIVE
To replace all solid concrete pavement slabs world-wide with Solar Sidewalk pavers creating a clean and green environment for all.
We have already identified staff on 5 continents to drive the product once we have completed the Pilot Project.
PROJECT SCOPE
The scope of this project is paved areas or areas which could be paved for pedestrian use only.
The product is NOT for use as a roadway or a driveway.
NEXT STEPS
Early Proof of Concept (without the steel frame) to test surface integrity and concept viability. An “off the shelf” PV cell was used (normally used for camping). Pavers are a standard size provided by the supplier. Sidewalk dimensions are 1,840mm x 920mm (or 6’ 4” x 3’ 2”) although various sizes can be ordered.
