LIGHTBULB MOMENT !
The Solar Sidewalk© has been designed by John Halsted who comes from a long line of engineers. The idea came to him in a “lightbulb” moment as he was walking through London on a hot summer’s day in 2012.

business plan. He is now in fundraising mode to

NEXT STEPS
Whilst the pilot site is being built, John will be
finalising product launch plans to launch on all
five continents.
He has already identified and approached
individuals to join the Solar Sidewalks team.
A few of the team members are already in
place in various locations around the world
and are just waiting for the funding after
which the go ahead will be given.

John exhibited the Solar Sidewalk at VFS-19 (Venturefest South 2019) on 29 Match in Southampton and was one of the 6 Finalists in the “Innovation of the Year” competition.
This is the 2nd time the Solar Sidewalk has made the finals of an innovation competition!
